The multifaceted creative process was based on the collaboration of three creator-friends, between whom there is a every-twenty-years age difference. It’s hard to say anything about the number of events and forms that were created in this process. It was an experiment that had no premise at the beginning, only an intuitive desire to explore that took place in a three fields: cinematography, contemporary art and music.
The results of this collaboration is a full-length film production „A tree that has become the Sun” (in post-production). The old man of the forest, an artist – musician – outsider, introduces us to his intimate world. He is a person who has experienced the transformation of the village, the disappearance of folk traditions, the passing away of a world full of ghosts and fairy-tale beings himself. Through him we are introduced to a world where old stories and rituals seek a new form.
I was organically drawn into these explorations, imbuing the old man’s world through my own sensibility. Our collaboration resulted with a number of fairy-tale objects, including a large-scale sculpture burned from the trunk of an old willow tree – “Echo”. It became one of the characters in the film. We also created many hours of musical material – using the method of intuitive sessions, which involved nearly 30 musicians from all over Poland – experimental, jazz music, based on ethnic, noise and folk sounds.
